On Friday, Discovery finally announced the Gold Rush: White Water Season 7 premiere date. According to The Futon Critic, the popular spinoff is premiering on Friday, March 8, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on the Discovery Channel and streaming on Max.

The poster shows an aerial view of Nugget Creek with the ragged rocks surrounding the water. Etched in the water is the haunting image of the late Dakota Fred Hurt. It is clear he is going to be on everyone’s mind this season. That is because this is his last season on the series before his July 2023 death due to brain cancer at the age of 80.

That means that Discovery fans of the extreme gold mining series may need some tissues nearby. This promises to be emotional.

Gold Rush: White Water Season 7 is going to be a season of redemption. According to the synopsis, “Dustin Hurt is desperate for redemption. After barely escaping with their lives last season, it’s make or break as he’s forced to streamline his crew and come up with a whole new plan of attack for the deadly creek that nearly destroyed him.”

Dustin must overcome heartache, as he bids farewell to his dying father, Dakota Fred before he can attempt to triumph over Mother Nature and find the life-changing gold of Nugget Creek.

The Discovery preview video for Gold Rush: White Water Season 7 starts with the creek area, with the voice of Dakota Fred Hurt. He says, “When you first find gold it kinda sets your heart sailing. I want you guys to go up there and have one hell of a season.”

Then, they show some gold nuggets. The nuggets shown keep getting bigger. But, the final one is an enormous nugget. The voiceover says, “That’s the biggest nugget in Gold Rush history!”
